Installation instructions
There are no specific installation methods to avoid with bamboo flooring: it is the quality of the floor and/or the screed and the available budget which determine the installation method.
In all cases, it is up to the installer to choose the most appropriate installation method, depending on the type of installation.
Where the bamboo flooring is bonded, it is very important to use a top quality adhesive. We recommend two-component adhesives or polymer adhesives such as Bona®, Basin®, Sika®, etc. adhesives
Warning: dispersion adhesives and alcohol-based adhesives must not be used on bamboo flooring.
Where the flooring is laid as a floating floor with a sub-layer being laid first, it is important to identify the constituents of the sub-layer, as some of these are not compatible with bamboo flooring.
Whether it is a new build or refurbishment, it is important that the work in the area where the flooring is to be laid has been completed, so that the flooring is the last element to be installed.
Basic precautions for the installation of flooring and panels:
The flooring strip boxes and the panels must be stored at an average temperature of around 18°C and humidity of approximately 45-60%.
The flooring strip boxes must be on site a week before they are to be laid, so that the flooring can adjust to the ambient temperature of the location where it is to be installed.
The boxes must always be stored flat.
